At A2B, sustainability isn’t just a word — it’s the heartbeat of our mission. For over 25 years, we’ve stood alongside families in Albania, building trust, restoring dignity, and walking with them through the generations. Some of the children we teach today are the sons and daughters of mothers we once taught ourselves. That’s the power of long-term commitment.
But sustaining this work is becoming harder. The funding environment is tougher than ever, with grants awarded to only a fraction of applicants. Rising living costs, inflation, and fluctuating exchange rates in Albania add further strain. Yet, thanks to the generosity of our UK supporters, hope continues to shine.
This summer, we shared exciting news: the chance to lease two new warehouse units for Hope for the Future. These spaces hold incredible potential, enabling us to expand the centre to host not only a kindergarten, after-school provision and computer classes, but also guest accommodation and a social enterprise. The units are now ready, but before they can begin generating income, they need transforming.
That’s where you come in. We are seeking to raise £15,000 to convert our current centre into welcoming guest accommodation. This expansion would allow us to host up to 15 visitors each night, offering meals at a fraction of hotel costs. With 100–150 visitors joining us each year, this could generate around 30,000 Euros annually — a vital, sustainable income stream.
Beyond the numbers, this project will create jobs, provide training, and empower both the local community and HOP residents. It’s not just about buildings; it’s about building futures.
