Somewhere off the beaten track…
Some of the people A2B supports in rural Albania live in places you’d struggle to find on a map.
One mum, in her early 30s, lives high in the mountains with her two children. Her husband died of cancer not long ago. Since then, she’s been doing everything she can to keep life stable for her kids. But school is a long way away. There no local job opportunities for her. The nearest public transport is 30 minutes’ walk away.
To collect a monthly food parcel from A2B, she walks down the mountain to the main road, takes a bus, and comes back carrying everything by hand. It’s not easy – but she never misses a collection.
Her brother-in-law, who lives nearby, helps when he can. But she’s largely on her own.
Thanks to your support, she now receives regular food, clothing, and household supplies. It’s not a full solution, but they all have something to eat, and her children will have the energy to attend school.
